NCBR_EIT Food. New trends and the future of food

March 22, 2022

NCBR Brussels Office — Business & Science Poland (NCBR/BSP) and EIT Food/European Institute
Technological Innovation (EIT) are pleased to invite you to an online information meeting, which
will be held on Wednesday 6 April 2022 from 12.30 to 15.00

The Polish agri-food sector is undergoing a rapid transformation. The crisis caused by the epidemic
accelerated the implementation of innovative solutions in the field of food distribution and changed habits
shopping. Limited availability of labor has accelerated robotization in some departments
agriculture. Polish agri-food industry entities have been closely following global trends for a long time, but increasingly
more often create their own innovations adapted to local conditions

.
The aim of the meeting is to present programs supporting innovative solutions
in a sector where consumers declare an attachment to tradition and at the same time expect
safety, responsible and sustainable practices and convenience and functionality
products and services. These seemingly conflicting expectations can be reconciled with innovative ideas
in the field of, among others: precision agriculture, high-efficiency processing implementing the principles
circular economy, diversification of protein sources, digitalisation of the supply chain and new concepts
packaging, or monitoring and changing consumer behaviour to reduce waste
food.

During the event, we will present solutions supported by programs for innovators,
startups, technologists and production engineers, specialists and innovation managers. We will show
key findings from the EIT Food expertise for the agri-food industry. We will discuss
examples of support and commercialization of innovation and we will present deepening programs
expertise and competence in the development of new products. EIT Experts
will tell about the experiences of implementing modern agrotechnical practices among young
farmers, and Polish startups cooperating with the EIT about bringing their solutions to the market, e.g.
development of a digital platform supporting sustainable cultivation.

We invite all representatives of science, business and education to take part in the event.

At the end of the meeting, a question and answer session with the speakers is scheduled.
