On October 21, 2021, another meeting of the cycle was held #BSP_Insight organized by Business & Science Poland in the area of the so-called Digital Agenda. This time BSP members had the opportunity to talk with Minister Janusz Cieszyński, Secretary of State, Government Plenipotentiary for Cybersecurity about current trends and directions of activities in the field of cybersecurity.
The discussion was led by Natalia Matyba, BSP expert, who at the beginning emphasized that digital policy is one of the most important substantive areas for the Union. “We are continuously monitoring EU regulations on the Digital Agenda in cooperation with our member companies and partners” she added.
Grzegorz Dębowski, Member of the Management Board of the Union of Employers Business & Science Poland pointed out that proper dialogue between the public administration and the member companies and partners of the Association in the context of digital transformation is very important. “BSP is the voice of Polish business in Brussels. All the more important are the meetings and consultations on the spot, in Poland, in order to develop convincing and effective arguments in the interest of the Polish economy during the negotiations in the EU” —added. He also welcomed representatives of state treasury companies, as well as representatives of BSP — Director Katarzyna Lachowicz and Director Szymon Mikulski.
“The creation of such an organization as Business & Science Poland is a response to the demands of many entities. We have a number of economic interests in Brussels. European legislation has an important impact in virtually every area of life. EU regulations determine the functioning of business and the entire Polish economy.” — emphasized Minister Janusz Cieszyński in the introduction. He also pointed to the importance of the BSP undertaking the initiative of cooperation with KPRM Digitization in the area of all kinds of digital services, including cybersecurity. Marcin Wysocki, Deputy Director of the Cybersecurity Department presented directions and trends in national and European policy in the field of cybersecurity.
The meeting reviewed the progress of the current EU negotiations in the area of the NIS2 Directive, proposals for regulation in the field of artificial intelligence and data protection.
