Special Act on special arrangements in connection with the Polish Presidency of the Council of the EU

The Sejm of the Republic of Poland adopted a special law on special solutions in connection with the preparation and holding of the presidency of the Council of the EU by the Republic of Poland

The most important solutions

• The Minister of the Interior and Administration will be responsible for ensuring cooperation and monitoring the activities of all services that will be involved in ensuring security during the Polish Presidency of the Council of the EU.

• The competent voivods will prepare plans for security and public order. This will concern the most important official meetings of the Presidency.

• To ensure an adequate level of security, the Police will be given a temporary opportunity to process information, including personal data, of persons or entities that will participate in events related to the Presidency or collaborate in their organization.

• Temporary solutions will be introduced regarding public procurement, which will be awarded in connection with the organization of events under the Polish presidency of the EU.

- These orders will be excluded from the principle of disclosure. However, the rules on which contracts are to be based will be laid down, in particular as regards the transparency of the selection of contractors, including ensuring the impartiality of the persons conducting those proceedings.

- The Central Anti-Corruption Bureau will control the ordering and the progress of orders.
