Chairman of the Board
Piotr is a manager with extensive experience in the private and public sector. Before his appointment as the Board’s Chairman of Business & Science Poland, he managed health care units and research and development companies such as St. Jadwiga Śląska and the main research center of the KGHM capital group – KGHM Cuprum. Among others he was also the Charimen of the Board of the Polish Center for Technology Development PORT.
Piotr has been an active leader of the local community in Lower Silesia for many years.
Member of the Board
Artur is a lawyer, manager and entrepreneur with many years of experience. He holds an MBA diploma and he graduated in the Law studies at the University of Wrocław. Before joining the Business & Science Poland, he worked in managerial positions, including in Totalizator Sportowy and in Poczta Polska. During his mandate as a Member of the European Parliament in 2009-2014, he gained practical experience and knowledge about EU regulations. Among other activities he was a Vice-chairman of the EU delegation for relations with Japan and longstanding member of the Committee on Transport and Tourism.
He was a Rapporteur for an EU Regulation on Groundhandling Services at EU airports, and a shadow Rapporteur for the Directive on aviation security charges and on the Opinion of airline passengers’ rights. Next, in the years 2015-2019, he was elected as MP to the Sejm of the Republic of Poland and held a position of the Vice-President of the Infrastructure Committee. He was a member of the Polish-Brazilian Parliamentary Group. He holds an Honorary Citizenship of Famagusta in Cyprus.
Member of the Board
Wojciech is a political scientist, a graduate of the Faculty of International and Political Studies of the Jagiellonian University where he obtained the PhD rank in social sciences. During the VI and VII legislature terms of the European Parliament he worked as the Director of the office and then an adviser to a Member of the European Parliament, including as an accredited parliamentary Assistant.
For over a decade, he ran his own marketing and public relations business. Among others, he held a position of the marketing and promotion Director in the works of the Executive Committee for the organization of the EURO2012 European Football Championships in Poland. Prior to joining the Business & Science Poland team, he worked as an advisor to the Office of the Speaker of the Senate of the Republic of Poland.
Chairmen of the Advisory Council
Tomasz is a leading expert in public and regulatory affairs in Poland. He was a Partner at White&Case and was elected one of the leading lawyers by the Energy & Natural Resources Chambers Europe and Legal 500 EMEA. He is a former Director at the General Prosecutor’s Office of Poland and a former member of the Board of the Sobieski Institute. Tomasz is also an entrepreneur and co-founder of a chemical company.
Tomasz cooperates with non-governmental organizations such as: School of Leaders (Szkoła Liderów), Society of Friends of the Museum of Modern Art (Towarzystwo Przyjaciół Muzeum Sztuki Nowoczesnej), Center of Divine Providence (Centrum Opatrzności Bożej), Institute of Industrial Studies (Instytut Studiów Przemysłowych), Polish Humanitarian Organization (Polska Akcja Humanitarna), and Tertio Millennio Institute.
Bartek is a former diplomat and civil servant with 15 years of experience in European affairs, in particular in trade policy and international economic relations.
Previously he coordinated matters related to international trade in the Permanent Representation of Poland to the EU and represented national economic interests in various circles of Brussels. He was a member of many EU decision-making bodies, including the chairmanship of the EU Council legislative working group. He has experience in formal and informal EU decision-making processes at all levels – from the conceptual stage to the involvement of EU leaders.
Senior Legal Advisor
Katarzyna is an attorney-at-law with many years of experience in the EU decision-making process and EU legislation. Prior to joining BSP, Katarzyna has advised large business entities in this regard. She is an expert in the EU decision-making process, community and economic law and many EU policies.
She is a member of the District Chamber of Legal Advisors in Warsaw. She graduated European law from the Université Libre de Bruxelles. Katarzyna worked and completed internships in Polish administration bodies and EU institutions in Brussels. She is also an author of a number of publications in the branch press.
In Business & Science Poland, she is responsible for issues related to EU legislation, relations with EU institutions and public administration and supports BSP members in this area.
Strategic Communication Advisor
Kacper is a former Polish Diplomat. He had served 10 years in the Polish Permanent Representation, firstly, as a sherpa (Antici) to weekly EU Ambassador’s meetings in the Council of the European Union His tasks included coordination of the dossiers negotiated at ministerial (Council) and heads of states and governments (European Council) levels. During his second posting he led the Communication team as the Spokesperson, including during the Polish presidency of the EU Council in 2011. He later left the diplomatic service and moved to the private sector in Brussels and joined the Public Affairs team at Philip Morris International.
In BSP Kacper is responsible for the communication strategy, which aims at bringing Polish business and science closer to EU politics, among others through open and inclusive debates with EU experts about our common future.
Anna-Maria Kaczmarek joined Business & Science Poland in January 2020, where she handles energy and climate change issues.
Before joining BSP she managed environmental and sustainability issues, including advocacy towards European institutions and other stakeholders in the European Steel Association – EUROFER. Additionally, she has also worked for several years in number of other companies, including Kreab, PA Europe, Polish bailiff office and the European Training Academy. Her work experience also covers working in the European Parliament, in the offices of the President and other prominent MEPs.
She holds a Master of Laws degree from the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw, and MA degree with a double distinction from Minister of Science in English Literature from the John Paul II Catholic University in Lublin. She is also an alumni of the European Academy of Diplomacy with specialization in Foreign Service.
Office & Event Manager
Economist with several years of experience in project and process management.
Marta was educated in finance and accounting at the Warsaw School of Economics and the Frederic Alexander University in Nuremberg.
She gained professional experience working among others for international corporations such as Amundi, DSV and ABB. Prior to joining Business & Science Poland she worked at the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Technology, where she was involved in the implementation of project management system as well as issues related to the business service center sector and supporting innovation in the economy.
Head of the Office for the Management Board
Michał is a Law Graduate at the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Opole. He followed with post-graduate studies at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Lodz in the field of human resources management. In 2017, he started his PhD studies and in 2019 opened a doctoral dissertation Expropriation in the special acts regarding infrastructure investments and the constitutional protection of property rights.
Before joining the Business & Science Poland team, Michał gained experience working in law firms, public administration institutions and enterprises from the R&D sector. He is the author of publications and a speaker in the field of administrative and constitutional law and real estate.
Expert the Office for the Management Board
Szymon is a Graduate of the Law studies at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Opole. In 2019, he started the post-graduate study programme in the field of Data Protection – the legal, psychological and technical aspects of data management in an organization at the Warsaw School of Banking. In 2018 he completed an internship in the European Parliament.
He gained his first professional experience in a family company where he was responsible for legal services and business contacts. Furthermore he completed numerous apprenticeships and internships in courts and law firms. Before joining the Business & Science Poland team, Szymon worked at the Zabrze City Hall in the Department of Legal Services and Information Security.
